Feature on STIs wins £500 award for sexual health

By Press Gazette

Jenny Wood has won this year’s Rosemary Goodchild Award for the best published article on a sexual health issue.

Her feature, “What’s your chance of having an STI?”, appeared in Company magazine last June.

Commenting on this year’s award, Anne Weyman, Family Planning Association chief executive, said: “The judges would like to congratulate Jenny for the article which was well written, non-judgemental, and also included information for the reader from a survey carried out by Company magazine.” The award was established by the family of former FPA press officer Rosemary Goodchild, who died of ovarian cancer in 1988. This year’s panel of judges was David Aaronovitch of The Guardian; Trevor Goodchild, husband of the late Rosemary Goodchild; Anne Weyman, fpa chief executive; Toni Belfield, fpa director of information and Karen Brewer, fpa director of communications.

Wood will collect the award and her £500 prize at a ceremony at the House of Lords in June.
