Hospital Doctor appoints new editor

By Press Gazette

Hospital Doctor has appointed the assistant editor of Personnel Today as its new editor.

Mike Broad has spent more than two years on Personnel Today, first as news editor and then as assistant editor and was substantially involved in the magazine’s long-running campaign on how businesses can better employ the talents of refugees.

He was previously deputy editor on the monthly magazine Charity Finance and a reporter on Property Week.

Phil Johnson, group editor of Hospital Doctor and healthcare at Reed Business Information, said Broad’s background was a key asset, given Hospital Doctor’s reputation for hard-hitting campaigns. He is known to have beat a number of talented internal candidates to the post.

“Another thing that impressed us was that he could clearly grasp lots of different sectors,” Johnson added.

Broad is due to join Hospital Doctor on 14 April and will replace former editor Tim Burrowes, who left to become editor of Media Week.

Broad was on holiday this week and unavailable for comment.
