Legal Director strikes while the iron is hot

By Press Gazette

Legal Director, the magazine aimed at business lawyers, is extending its reach.

The B2B title aimed at general counsel, who run the legal departments of major companies, is planning to widen its circulation to include corporate counsel and global heads of legal departments.

Mary Heaney, editorial director of Legal Week Global Media, said potential readership had grown since the collapse of companies such as Enron. “The success of the magazine since its launch two years ago has allowed us to undertake a number of initiatives for the in house legal marketplace, the latest of which is to increase Legal Director’s circulation to heads of legal internationally.”

“With global collapses such as Enron now on the radar of all companies, general counsel now have a key opportunity to influence company business on top of their current role of managing legal services,” she said.

“Legal Director has led the way in campaigning for general counsel to rise to this task and ensure the legal department has a voice.”

The magazine is also launching a three-day summit called the Global Legal Forum, due to take place at St Andrew’s Bay Hotel in Scotland from 14 to 16 May.
