Therapy Weekly editor moves on to monthly OTN

Melissa Oliveck has quit as editor of Therapy Weekly to edit the monthly Occupational Therapy News.

OTN is the monthly journal of the College of Occupational Therapists and Oliveck will replace current editor Christabel Mitchell, who is leaving to go to Australia.

Oliveck has been editor of Therapy Weekly since 1998, having joined the title more than 10 years ago as a staff reporter. “It is sad, obviously, after all this time, but the time is right to move on and find fresh challenges,” she said.

Oliveck said she enjoyed working in that particular field, but it was too early to discuss her plans for OTN.

Prior to Therapy Weekly, she worked for the Messenger Group, having trained as a reporter on the local paper Widnes World.

Therapy Weekly is published by Emap Healthcare and is the weekly magazine for occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists. Emap is in the process of recruiting a replacement.
