The annual One World Media Awards in June will include a new category especially for local and community media.
The Local Media Award – sponsored by the Department for International Development – will recognise outstanding coverage of development and international issues, which may also incorporate a local perspective.
Ritchie Cogan, director of the One World Broadcasting Trust, said: “The Local Media Award is intended to enable a fairer playing field for nonnational broadcast and print media.”
