There and back again, by Simon Heffer: Columnist switches from Mail to Telegraph…again

By William Turvill

Simon Heffer has moved back to the Telegraph as a Sunday columnist after four years at the Daily Mail.

Heffer originally joined the Telegraph in 1986 as a leader writer before moving on to become chief leader writer, political correspondent, parliamentary sketchwriter, comment editor and deputy editor.

He then moved to the Mail before returning to the Telegraph after a decade in 2005.

The columnist went to the Mail again in 2011, setting up the Right Minds, a section of Mail Online that is now rarely updated.

Heffer's last column appeared in the Mail on the day after the general election, 8 May.

Heffer's main role is to write a column in The Sunday Telegraph, but he will also be contributing to other sections of the Telegraph.
