Regional newspaper publisher Local World has announced plans to launch a national online team of journalists based in London to work on local websites and “new launches”.
This morning, Local World began advertising for “talented journalists obsessed with digital to join its new national team” based in its High Street Kensington office.
According to the job advertisement, recruits will be expected to “write and build must-read, highly shareable content for new launches in 2015 and beyond as well as for our existing local websites".
The advert said: ”You will be a self-starter, capable of being innovative and reliable within a small team and of working in different shift patterns, including some weekends.
“You will be able to produce fast, accurate, funny, informative content and to have an instinctive idea of what different digital audiences love to read.”
It said that applicants should contact digital content director Steve Anglesey, and added: “You will need to have good experience of digital publishing – creating your own content, optimising it for search and then promoting it via social.
“You should have experience of analytics, content management systems and image libraries, as well as editing images and video.”
