Two of the leading daily editors in the Local World group of newspapers, which were bought by Trinity Mirror in a deal which valued the group at £220m at the end of last year, are to leave.
Kevin Booth is stepping down from the Leicester Mercury after 18 months in the job for "personal reasons".
Holdthefrontpage reports that Paul Brackley is leaving the Cambridge News, where had been editor for seven years, tomorrow.
Brackley was also one of 11 regional editor-in-chiefs created to oversee the enlarged Trinity Mirror empire in February.
The pair are the latest in a long list of senior regional newspaper editors from across the industry to step down in recent years, with many leaving the regional press altogether.
The Local World deal has made Trinity Mirror by the far the largest regional newspaper publisher in the UK.
Trinity Mirror closed Local World's Offbeat local news website Quirker in January.
