Newsquest Herald and Times group editor Magnus Llewellin is joining The Times as Scottish editor.
He replaces Les Snowdon who is joining The Sun as assistant editor in London.
In his current job Llewellin oversees Glasgow-based titles the The Herald, Sunday Herald, The National and Evening Times.
Scottish Times political editor Lindsay McIntosh will be his deputy.

Llewellin has 28 years of experience in journalism having started his career on the Ellesmere Port Pioneer in Cheshire. He has worked in Scottish journalism since 1990 and held senior jobs on the Edinburgh Evening News, Daily Record and Scotsman as well as The Herald.
According to ABC, The Times Scottish edition had an average circulation in April 2016 of 24,709 out of a total of 436,692.
