The Sunday Mirror has launched a new glossy magazine to replace its Celebs on Sunday pullout.
The new supplement, Notebook, will have a fashion and beauty focus and include health tips alongside film and celebrity stories and opinion.
Trinity Mirror’s publishing director for national titles Paula Scott, said the decision to ditch the Celebs on Sunday title came about because of the “diminishing” appetite “weekly celebrity news”.
Scott said the new magazine will focus on “celebrating the everyday woman and applauding her for who she is”.
She added: “We had ten great years with Celebs on Sunday however now is the right time for Notebook to take that success forward. Over the last couple of months the feedback we've had from both advertisers and readers has been incredibly positive.”
Despite the apparent shift in focus away from celebrities, the magazine launches next weekend with a Cheryl Cole exclusive on the eve of the singer’s 30th birthday.
Regular columnists will include Radio One DJ Sara Cox, who will write about her experiences as a working mother, and former Dragon’s Den star Hilary Devey, who has been signed up as an agony aunt.
Notebook will also be available as a stand-alone paid-for app and will have a dedicated board on social networking site Pinterest.
Editor Mel Brodie said: “Notebook is a celebration of the everyday extraordinary woman and will provide her with all the information, however diverse, that will keep her in the know.
“If you like, we’re the Pinterest of print and we see Notebook as the must-have bible to modern day living. We’re the magazine that readers will want to take note of.”
