Sun libel writ over “WPC randy in a Panda story”

By Sarah Limbrick

News Group Newspapers are facing a claim for unlimited libel damages brought by Cambridgeshire based Mathew McFadden.

McFadden is using over a story headed ‘Sarge n’ WPC got randy in a Panda”, published in The Sun in July 2006, which he claims was defamatory.

McFadden is demanding unlimited and aggravated damages over the story, and over a website version. He also seeks an injunction banning repetition of the allegations at the centre of his claim. The writ was issued by solicitors Pattinson and Brewer.
