Sue Matthias is new FT Magazine editor

Former assistant editor of the Independent on Sunday Sue Matthias has joined the Financial Times as editor of FT Magazine as part of a flurry of new senior appointments at the paper.

Matthias is a former deputy editor of the New Statesman and was acting editor of the Guardian Weekend magazine for six months in 2009.

The FT also today announced the appointment of Jane Owen as editor the House and Home section in the Saturday Weekend edition and Tom Robbins as FT travel editor. Robbins was previously travel editor of The Observer.

Deputy editor of Prospect magazine James Crabtree is joining the FT as comment editor, Hong Kong-based Wall Street Journal leader writer Leslie Hook is joining as Beijing correspondent and assistant editor of Reuters Breakingviews Edward Hadas has been recruited as assistant editor of the Lex column.
