More than 8,000 journalists, photographers and technical staff are arriving in London this week to cover the royal wedding, based at temporary media villages outside Buckingham Palace and Green Park.
Here we look at how some of the biggest broadcasters, news agencies and national newspapers will cover the event.
The BBC
A BBC spokesperson confirmed it was sending more than 850 staff to cover the wedding. Around 550 staff will help produce coverage for BBC1, and a further 300 for Radio 2, Radio 4, Radio 5 Live, BBC News 24 and Newsnight.
BBC’s coverage will be anchored by newsreader Huw Edwards who will be based at Buckingham Palace alongside Fiona Bruce and Sophie Raworth.
The corporation will also have reporters based at St Andrew’s University and at Kate Middleton’s home village of Bucklebury.
ITV
Around 300 staff will cover the event for ITV. Coverage starts on its breakfast show Daybreak with Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, and other hosts include Kate Garraway in Buckleberry, Lucy Verasamy from Westminster Abbey and Grainne Seoige live from Pontefract.
From 8.30am ITV will broadcast live coverage from a specially-constructed studio near Buckingham Palace hosted by Julie Etchingham and Phillip Schofield.
As well as its live rolling coverage, ITV will broadcast extended news programmes including an hour-long early evening news special at 6pm, and it has created a website which will allowi viewers to stream videos, upload pictures and chat.
ITV’s director of newsgathering Jonathan Munro said: ‘Covering the wedding will be one of the most complex and ambitious projects ITV News has ever undertaken.
‘We will have every moment covered live, and we’ll aim to capture the atmosphere on the streets of the capital – and at the parties and festivities across the UK.”
At least 10 reporters have been assigned throughout the day including Alastair Stewart, Mary Nightingale, Mark Austin, Geraint Vincent and Nina Hossain in London, Matt Smith in St Andrews and Andrea Benfield in Anglesey.
CNN
CNN is sending around 400 staff to cover the event including 50 journalists and producers.
Piers Morgan, Richard Quest, Anderson Cooper and Kiran Chetry will lead its coverage.
The US broadcaster has invested in its web coverage of the event, setting up a ‘Wedding Planner’ website featuring slideshows and on-demand videos, and CNN IReport, which allows viewers to share experiences in the run-up to the wedding.
The network has also launched Unveiled, a blog covering informal details of the marriage, and produced new apps for the Ipad, Apple Iphone, IPod Touch, and Android tablets.
A Sky News spokeswoman confirmed it has allocated 160 staff to cover the wedding, a figure that includes journalists, photographers and make-up artists.
Sky will begin its coverage at 6am with Dermott Murnaghan, followed by lead anchor Eamonn Holmes who will lead coverage from a purpose-built studio outside Buckingham Palace.
Other correspondents include Sarah Hugues, Kay Burley, Alastair Bruce and Anna Botting.
Head of Sky News, John Ryley said its coverage would be ‘newsy, celebratory and fun”.

PA plans to have up to 100 editorial staff covering the wedding including 40 wire reporters and 30 photographers and video journalists.
Subscribers to the wire services will be able to access reports and photographs alongside archive images, as well as a rolling 24-hour news feed that can be embedded onto customers’ websites,
It has launched its ‘Royal Wedding Newswall’ service in partnership with web technology firm Ultra Knowledge. As we as providing news feeds it will help online and mobile publishers increase user-engagement by encouraging readers to share news and content through social media platforms like as Twitter and Facebook.
Allan Marshall, head of digital production, said: ‘The Royal Wedding Newswall provides a unique opportunity for websites to stream our content directly in an interesting way that engages readers, keeps them online for longer and encourages them to share the news through social media”.
The Independent confirmed it has signed up to the Newswall service
Guardian News & Media
A dozen journalists will be reporting on the wedding alongside a mix of staff and agency photographers.
Photographer Martin Parr will be covering wedding parties being held outside the capital and the Guardian will also be producing a free supplement for the paper on 30 April.
The website will feature live blogging and videos.
