Richard Fletcher is new Daily Telegraph City editor

Telegraph Media Group has announced a number of new appointments to the financial team.

Richard Fletcher, who was previously executive editor for the business section, is being appointed to the new role of City editor of the Daily Telegraph and Lawrie Holmes, who was the business editor of the Sunday Express, has been appointed deputy City editor.

Alistair Osborne will continue in his role as business editor and will be joined by Jonathan Sibun who has been appointed assistant City editor.

Holmes, who has also previously been editor of banking magazine Financial World, will be working closely with City editor of the Sunday Telegraph Kamal Ahmed.

Damian Reece continues to be head of business and will also be “channel manager” overseeing development of business coverage online. He will also continue to write a daily column.
