A French court has found News Corporation guilty of invasion of privacy for publishing a story claiming former racing boss Max Mosley participated in a Nazi-themed orgy.
It ordered the company to pay more than 32,000 euros (£27,500) in penalties and court costs.
Mosley had already won a privacy case in Britain against the News of the World for the 2008 story about his extra marital encounter in a London flat with five paid dominatrices.
He also tried to take the case to the European Court of Human Rights but earlier this year failed in his bid to persuade it to change British law and make prior notification compulsory for stories which breach an individual’s privacy.
