A man has appeared in court charged with an alleged assault on an investigative journalist.
William Burns, 54, from Paisley in Renfrewshire, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with allegedly assaulting Scottish Sun journalist Russell Findlay and causing him a severe injury.
He made no plea and no declaration last Thursday, 24 December, and is cited to appear in court again on New Year's Eve.
Mr Findlay, 41, news and investigations reporter at The Scottish Sun, suffered a facial injury after allegedly being sprayed with an unknown liquid at his home in Glasgow at about 8.45am on Wednesday.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and was released after treatment.
