Hello magazine director at large Sally Cartwright has been named as the new chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
Cartwright, a former chairman of the Periodical Publishers Association, will join the organisation following formal ratification by the ABC council in February, 2010.
She will replace John Mayhead, who has held the position since 2000 and has reached the end of his allotted term.
Cartwright has been director at large of Hello since 2007 after working as the magazine’s publishing director for 17 years.
She has also previously worked as the chairman of the joint industry group, the self-regulatory body that includes the Newspaper Publishers Association and the PPA.
