Google decides that ex-porn star found guilty of insider trading has ‘right to be forgotten’

By William Turvill

A Telegraph story about the former porn star brother of Baroness Blackstone being found guilty of two counts of insider trading has been subject to a successful ‘right to be forgotten’ request.

Google has removed the link to the 2003 story, about Tim Blackstone, under certain search terms.

It is the 15th Telegraph story to have had links to it removed by Google, with the title listing all of them on its website.

In total, the UK national press websites along with the BBC have had more than 80 stories affected by ‘right to be forgotten’ requests.

This is not including the Mirror.co.uk and Express Newspapers’ websites, which did not respond to Press Gazette’s ‘right to be forgotten’ queries.

The latest Telegraph story reports on how Tim Blackstone, 56 at the time, was ordered to pay a £1,000 fine plus £16,000 legal costs after being found guilty of two counts of insider trading.

Google has not informed the Telegraph who made the ‘right to be forgotten’ removal request.
