William Reed buys web B2B firm Decision News Media

William Reed Business Media, the publisher of The Grocer magazine, has acquired online B2B publisher Decision News Media for an undisclosed sum.

DNM, which is based in Montpellier in the south of France, provides online breaking news on the food, nutrition, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.

Its 17 sites include FoodNavigator.com and NutraIngredients.com, which William Reed said “nicely complemented” titles such as Harper’s Wine and Convenience Store.

William Reed said the new enlarged company would expand into new areas such as events, recruitment, data services and directories.

Group managing director Charles Reed said in a statement: “Both businesses publish cutting-edge information and are expert at building advertising and marketing solutions for their clients.

“Decision News Media represents an attractive opportunity, consistent with William Reed Business Media’s strategy of building high quality media, creating an integrated media specialist and expanding into new markets.

“Combining the businesses will enhance growth prospects.”
