H Bauer Publishing has appointed Sophie Hearsey as the new editor of That’s Life! magazine.
Hearsey, who takes over at the weekly with immediate effect, joins from sister H Bauer title, Take a Break, where she had been deputy editor since 2006.
Her appointment fills the vacancy created when Jo Checkley left That’s Life! last month to become editor of rival weekly, Love It!, published by Hubert Burda Media UK.
Hearsey’s deputy editorship on Take a Break will be filed by Sara Ward, the company said today.
Andy Brooks, publishing director at H Bauer, said: “Sophie brings all the right talents and experience to That’s Life! at a time when the true life market is more competitive than ever.
“These appointments demonstrate that there is a wealth of editorial talent here at H Bauer Publishing.”
That’s Life recorded a year-on-year fall in sales of 10.7 per cent during the second half of last year.
According to the most recent figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations the magazine has an average weekly sale of 378,551.
