Newsquest‘s specialist media division has launched a new pensions magazine – despite its managing director admitting it is “one of the most challenging times there has ever been to launch a business-to-business magazine”.
Pensions Insight will be an A4, subscription-based monthly title, with an introductory price of £99 for 12 issues.
The magazine will be aimed at pension professionals and advisers, with an estimated potential audience of 10,000.
Newsquest claims Pensions Insight is “the first significant new magazine for the UK pensions industry for 13 years”.
Some jobs will be created – although the company could not confirm how many – and staff at sister titles including Engaged Investor will contribute. A spokesman said more freelances would also be hired.
Newsquest Specialist Media managing director Tim Whitehouse said: “It is without doubt one of the most challenging times there has ever been to launch a business-to-business magazine into the UK financial services marketplace.
“However, the results of our research into the information need of the pensions industry, combined with the advance support and overwhelming positive feedback from advertisers, underline the fact that our decision to launch is the right one.
“Pensions Insight is a result of identifying a clear gap in the market and meeting that need.”
A website, pensions-insight.co.uk, will also be launched. The first magazine is due out on 3 April.
Newsquest Specialist Media’s portfolio includes Boxing News and Catastrophe Risk Management. The group also runs conferences.
