The UK division of German publisher Hubert Burda Media has acquired Love It magazine from News International following the closure of News Magazines earlier this year.
In June this year, News International announced it was closing its loss-making News Magazines venture and moved Sunday Times Travel Magazine back in-house with the Sunday Times.
The publisher decided to sell off weekly real life title Love It, which recorded a circulation of 372,247 for the first half of 2008, down 7.1 per cent year on year, according to ABC.
New owner Hubert Burda Media UK is part of the publishing giant Hubert Burda Media Group, which publishes 260 magazines worldwide.
In April 2006, HBM UK bought Colchester-based Essential Publishing, which publishes titles including Full House, Your Home and Health & Fitness.
Love It, edited by Karen Pasquali Jones, will continue to be published from the News Magazines offices in Chelsea until January, when staff will transfer to HBM UK’s offices in Holborn, central London.
HBM UK chief executive Luke Patten said: ‘News Magazines created a leading title within the sector with a distinctive appeal to readers. It fits very well with our other titles and is well placed to grow further.”
