New look for Horse & Hound

By Rachael Gallagher

Weekly equestrian title Horse & Hound has revealed a new look following six months of reader research.

The IPC magazine, which launched in 1884, has new editorial content including increased news coverage and in-depth reports and additional focus on the major equestrian events of the year. The company said the new design was simpler and more accessible.

Editor Lucy Higginson said:: “We knew we wanted a new look for the magazine, but we also wanted to be absolutely sure that our changes built on all the things our readers love about Horse & Hound – our authority, scope, immediacy and topicality. That’s why we spent so much time speaking to readers in the development process of this new look. We hope and believe the result is one that will be loved by both current and new Horse & Hound readers.”

Horse & Hound’s new look coincides with the publication of its three-part Show Guide issues, which will extend to 200 pages each.

Horse & Hound saw a year on year circulation decrease in the ABC report this month, down to 65,631 for 2007 from 68,210 in 2006.
