Marie Claire adds shopping section to website

By Rachael Gallagher

IPC Media women’s monthly, Marie Claire, has teamed up with online fashion retailer my-wardrobe.com to launch a new shopping section on its website.

Hosted within the fashion pages of Marieclaire.co.uk, the new section has buyers from fashion and shopping website my-wardrobe.com providing comment and advice on current trends.

Users can also click through to my-wardrobe.com where they can purchase some of the clothes featured on the site, including favourite items of marieclaire.co.uk editor Carla Bevan. Bevan’s recommendations will also appear on my-wardrobe.com.

My-wardrobe.com was set up by Sarah Curran in April 2006, and as well as selling current fashion, it also offers fashion video content and a blog by staff. Curran, commenting on teaming up with Marieclaire.co.uk, said: ‘I’m just so proud to have my-wardrobe.com involved in this partnership marieclaire.co.uk is such a great site, with really clear navigation and a knowledge of exactly what their audience wants to read about on a daily basis.”

Marie Claire publishing director Richard Johnstone added: ‘Fashion is a key element of the marieclaire.co.uk experience and the launch of the new fashion trends channel, supported by my-wardrobe.com, adds yet another exciting dimension to this already popular section.’

IPC stablemate, fashion weekly Look, also has a shopping functionality on its website. Users on look.co.uk can add items to a ‘shopping list’and click through to the retailers website to purchase.
