Jane Crowther has been appointed editor of Future’s Total Film magazine.
Crowther joined Total Film as associate editor in 2010 after writing for the title on a freelance basis for more than a decade, and has been acting editor of the magazine since July 2011.
‘As a reader, contributor and more recently, staff member of Total Film, it’s a genuine thrill to be made editor of the smartest, sharpest movie magazine in the market,” said Crowther.
‘Total Film is an amazing brand and I can’t wait to get stuck in to taking it to the next level.”
Crowther began her career at the age of 14 as a reviewer for The Yorkshire Post, and has since written for magazines including Flicks and Sky.
Clair Porteous, group publisher for Future’s Film portfolio, said: ‘Jane is a film thoroughbred. She has an excellent mix of gutsy editorial nous, second-to-none film contacts and a day-to-day working knowledge of the movie industry.
‘This makes her the perfect person to head up Total Film as we launch into a year of exciting development across the brand.”
The latest ABC circulation figures for Total Film showed a 5.6 per cent drop to 71,823.
