Home improvement for Build It magazine

By Rachael Gallagher

Monthly self-build magazine Build It has had a revamp with a new design and new features.

The new-look October issue of the Ocean Media Group publication includes a new section on home improvement, featuring case studies of readers’ home improvement projects and expert advice.

Case studies of readers’ homes have been improved to include more information and tips. Eco home builder and star of BBC drama Holby Blue, Kacey Ainsworth, writes the first instalment of a regular diary.

The magazine, which has an audited circulation of 16,613, now has a news section at the front which covers the latest design trends and book reviews and for the October issue has an interview with interior design guru Oliver Heath.

Build It publisher Ted Stevens, said: “More than 20,000 people a year build their own homes and with the current housing downturn even more are looking at self build, or major home improvements, as the way to add extra value to their properties. Build It’s new format and contents are aimed at exactly matching their needs.

‘The magazine is firmly aimed at the growing army of ‘doers’ – the people who want to tackle a serious construction project or build their dream home. It gives them the practical advice and guidance they crave – clearly and consistently.”
