Future names first digital editor-in-chief for Real Homes website

By Charlotte Tobitt

Future Publishing has announced its first editor-in-chief for website Realhomes.com, which now encompasses Period Living online.

Lucy Searle joins the specialist publisher from Tailored Content, the content and social media marketing company she founded with Sarah Warwick, former executive editor of Ideal Home.

Searle was previously associate editor of Ideal Home and has overseen the launch of 4Homes magazine and its website for Channel 4.

Future said Searle has “ambitious plans” to grow the website to “reach its full potential, making it a one-stop destination for interior inspiration and advice”.

She also intends to “better align” the Real Home magazine and website both in look and feel, building on its 180,000 unique monthly users.

Searle said: “I’m really excited to have been given the opportunity to take Realhomes.com the next level. It’s an exciting time for the brand across all platforms.”

Period Living, which remains an independent print magazine, has been incorporated into the Real Homes brand online in a roll-out over the past few months.

Searle has also worked on titles such as Huffington Post, MSN, House Beautiful and home design website Houzz in her 20 years in the home and interiors market.
