Special interest publisher Future has today launched a paid-for iPad edition of its flagship technology title, T3.
The new publication has been made available thorough the Apple App Store priced £3.99 per issue. The print edition of T3 retails at £4.25 in the UK.
Developers claim the iPad edition, which has been launched with commercial support Audi and Intel, will give users access to exclusive video, 360 degree animation, multi-layered feature content and galleries unavailable to readers of the web or print editions.
Nial Ferguson, publishing director for Future’s Entertainment & Tech Lifestyle portfolios, said: ‘In all of our research, consumers responded very positively to both the enhanced editorial content and the highly interactive advertisements.
‘We are very excited about this launch, not just because we are the first UK magazine to market, but also because of the commercial possibilities that it opens up.”
Launch of the iPad edition comes after a series of developments at T3. The magazine appointed Luke Peters as its new editor in May replacing Michael Brook, who moved earlier this year to become editor of T3 Specials, overseeing the launch of Future’s Gadget Show Magazine.
According to the most recent figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations, T3 averaged sales of 59,143 each month in the second half of last year, a drop of 1.6 per cent year-on-year.
