Future media group and digital publisher has launched a new print and digital craft brand called Simply Crochet aimed at cashing-in on the popular yarn-based hobby.
The magazine will be published 13 times a year priced £4.99 and it will be available in print and tablet form and will also make part of the content available for free on its website.
The magazine is staffed by editor-in-chief Debora Bradley, senior art editor Louise Day and group art editor Julie Taylor.
Simply Crochet was promoted via social media ahead of its its launch and is already approaching 2,000 followers on Twitter.
The magazine's launch follows that of craft title MollieMakes, which broke subscription records for Future in 2011. According to Future Mollie Makes is now the UK's number one contemporary craft magazine.
According to Future's press release, the Google Zeitgeist survey found out that 'How to Crochet' was the fourth most searched 'How to' term on Google in the UK in 2012.
Group publisher Kerry Lawrence said: “This new magazine is a great addition to Future’s market-leading craft portfolio which includes established titles such as Simply Knitting and Cross Stitcher as well as newer titles including Mollie Makes.”
