The former editor of Building magazine, Adrian Barrick, has been made chief executive of United Business Media’s Built Environment division – part of CMP Information.
The move follows the exit of CMPi chief executive Gary Hughes in July when he was made redundant after a restructuring of the business.
The “delayering” process reorganised CMPi into four “market-focused” businesses – each with their own chief executive.
Barrick worked as a journalist for 20 years writing for property and building titles, and spent eight years as editor of Building magazine.
The UBM Built Environment division includes Building, BD and Property Week as well as A portfolio of events and information services.
Barrick was previously group director of Property and Construction Media at CMPI, and before that was publisher of Building and BD. He succeeds Jonathan Newby.
