Monthly paid-for magazine Sussex Life marked half a century of publication with a lunch at Brighton's Grand Hotel for readers, staff and local dignitaries.
The Archant title is based in Worthing and has a staff of 15.
It was founded by the Kent Messenger publishing group, which was keen to capitalise on the success of its Kent Life title.
Speaking at the lunch editor Jenny Mark-Bell (pictured, centre-right) saluted the "talent and endeavour" of those who had contributed to the magazine over the years.

Juliet Smith, the high sheriff of East Sussex, said that the Sussex Life team should be "proud of all the magazine has achieved" and of "how it is bucking the trend by proving that magazines of quality are still in demand".
The title claims to have a monthly circulation of 15,000.
It annually hosts the Sussex Life Awards for the best "food, drink, and hospitality" businesses across the region.
