Development in electronic publishing technology has allowed IPC’s weekly rural lifestyle magazine, Country Life, to bring forward its sale day from Thursday to Wednesday while retaining its usual Monday deadline.
This is the first time the magazine has changed its sale day in its 111-year history, and the move will allow estate agents who advertise in the magazine’s ‘premium’property section to showcase their properties a day earlier.
Publisher director Jean Christie said: ‘Many agents choose to launch their premium properties through the pages of Country Life. Moving the on sale date to a Wednesday will enable agents to market their properties even earlier and that can only be good news for buyers and sellers alike.’
The changes take effect from Wednesday 7 May.
Editor Mark Hedges said: ‘We will be able to get all the important rural news to our readers even faster than before by moving our on sale date from Thursday to Wednesday. By using the very latest technology, Country Life will be by far the most up-to-date magazine covering all the countryside issues.’
In February Country Life saw its second consecutive ABC rise under Hedges’ editorship to 40,821, after seeing a gradual decline from 45,675 in 2001, to 40,205 in 2005.
