Independent publisher the Chelsea Magazine Company has acquired sailing magazine Yachts and Yachting from GNM Media for an undisclosed sum.
The magazine, which was first published in 1947, will continue to be edited by Gael Pawson.
Paul Dobson, managing director of Chelsea Magazines, said: ‘We value magazines with a real tradition and we believe Yachts and Yachting fits perfectly into our portfolio.”
The monthly title will sit alongside the six other magazines published by Chelsea, including Cruise International, Artists & Illustrators and Britain, the official magazine of Visit Britain.
Chelsea Magazines is in talks to buy IPC Media’s Racecar Engineering and Classic Boat titles.
