The Debrief, a women’s lifestyle website aimed at young women and which championed feminism, has closed after four years.
The decision comes from publishers Bauer Media who have said they are looking to focus resources on Grazia online.
In an announcement on thedebrief.co.uk today, launch publisher Lauren Holleyoake said: “We are extremely proud of everything we have achieved over the last four years with The Debrief.
“With its unapologetically frank, inclusive and feminist tone, The Debrief changed the way brands engage with and speak to their audience online.
“We created a brand that really ‘got’ our audience and their lives in a way no-one had before.”
A Bauer spokesperson said Grazia and The Debrief’s audiences “more than ever are unified by their outlook and shared interests”.
They added: “Both audiences will now be served by Grazia online, whose breadth, unique voice, fashion authority and coverage of politics and news has a broad appeal amongst women in a rapidly changing social landscape.”
The Debrief journalists will be incorporated into Grazia’s digital editorial team, which will consist of six dedicated staff, Bauer has said.
The Debrief was launched in 2014 in an attempt to reach a younger female audience. The website’s Make Renting Fair campaigned to get unregulated letting agent’s fees banned in the UK and has previously investigated the relationship between hormonal contraceptives and mental health.
