Trinity Mirror’s new entertainment and humour website UsVsTh3m says it attracted seven million unique users in November.

The website was launched in May and since then has attracted a growing following. Among the features on the website is a quick game that establishes how northern you are.

Among the questions are references to the consumption of chips and gravy as well as whether the user ever wears a coat when outside.

According to Trinity Mirror, the website attracted a million users in September and has grown by 600 percent since then.

The company said of the seven million unique users in November, more than half accessed the site from mobiles or tablets with 43 percent logging on with a desktop or a laptop.

Seven out of ten visitors came from the UK while the average time on site was six minutes.

The biggest driver of traffic during November was the Northometer. Trinity Mirror said 3.8 million people have so far played the game with 20,000 online at one stage.

Malcolm Coles, digital product developer at Trinity Mirror, said: “This is an amazing achievement by the team to have grown so quickly in such a short space of time and shows the importance of experimentation for publishers. Our next experiment, Ampp3d, producing socially shareable data journalism launches shortly."
