Future launches new tablet-only craft magazine

By William Turvill

Future Publishing has launched a new digital-only craft magazine.

Gathered by Mollie Makes is aimed at a global audience and goes on sale, through Apple’s Newsstand, on a weekly basis.

Priced at £1.49 per issue, or £19.99 for an annual subscription, the title is designed only for HD tablet use, and includes video and photo gallery features.

The title, released for the first time last FRiday (19 October) is aimed at building on the presence of monthly print magazine and tablet edition Mollie Makes, which launched last year.

Sarah Gane, Digital Editor, said: “We’re so pleased to share Gathered by Mollie Makes with the international crafting community. It’s a must-read for creative types with a passion for contemporary craft.

“Every week we’ll feature three great projects, interviews with cool designer-makers and a roundup of our favourite things.”

Gathered by Mollie was created using Future’s interactive app creation software FutureFolio, an Apple-approved piece of software.

The same software was used by Future’s Creative Group to launch Photography Week last month.

Future also announced last month that sales of digital editions of Apple devices had passed £5m since Apple Newsstand was launched last October.
