Tim Singleton appointed deputy editor of ITV News

Tim Singleton (pictured above) has been promoted to deputy editor at ITV news, alongside his present duties as director of news-gathering.

He started his career in regional newspapers before joining ITV Yorkshire in 1992. He moved to ITV news in 1998 where jobs included Westminster news editor and foreign editor before his promotion to assistant editor and head of news-gathering in 2011.

Singleton said: "I have always been lucky to be surrounded by some of the finest journalists in the broadcast and digital world at ITV News and I am determined to carry on giving them the platform to do what they do best."
