RTS announces shortlist for Television Journalism Awards 2016

The Royal Television Society (RTS) has announced the shortlist for the Television Journalism Awards 2016.

Channel 4 News's Matt Frei, Alex Crawford of Sky News and CNN International's Nima Elbagir are finalists in the television journalist of the year category.

Frei has also been shortlisted for network presenter of the year along with the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire and ITV News's Julie Etchingham.

The BBC makes up all three shortlisted entries in the scoop of the year category for its work on the closure of Kids Company, the unmasking of 'Jihadi John' and BBC Northern Ireland's Spotlight: Public Figures.
