Staff at ITV have rejected the company's two per cent pay offer for 2015 and will move to a ballot for strike action unless it is improved.
Of those voting, members of the NUJ voted 85 per cent in favour of moving to a ballot for strike action, members of Bectu voted 86 per cent in favour and members of Unite 78 per cent in favour.
The unions had complained the pay offer followed a sustained period of growth and increasing profitability for ITV, including £435 million profits (up by 30 per cent) for 2013 and £250 million profits (up by 40 per cent) in the first six months of 2014.
CEO Adam Crozier also received a bonus of £8.4 million in 2013, the unions noted.
Sue Harris, NUJ national broadcasting officer, said: "This resounding yes vote to move to a strike ballot, unless the pay offer is improved, must be taken seriously by the ITV management.
“We are now prepared to go back to the negotiating table and hope the management will see sense and put a proper, decent offer forward and be as generous as they were with the deal given to ITV executives."
