ITV News’s Africa correspondent, Rohit Kachroo, has been appointed UK editor.
Kachroo, who in recent months has worked on the death of Nelson Mandela, interviewed Robert Mugabe and covered the Oscar Pistorious trial, replaces Lucy Manning, who moved to the BBC earlier this summer to become a special correspondent.
Kachroo said: "I'm happy to be returning to the ITV newsroom in London to report on the most important issues affecting Britain, as part of ITV News's UK Bureau. I'm proud of our reporting from Africa over the last four years, and look forward to the challenges of this new role at what is an important time for our country.”
Kachroo started his career as a regional news reporter for ITV Central and, before taking up his current role, worked for ITV News Midlands as a reporter and then crime correspondent.
