Eric Musgrave has returned to fashion weekly Drapers seven years after leaving it to become a fashion industry consultant and freelance writer.
He replaces Caroline Nodder as editorial director of the Emap-owned title.
Musgrave began his journalistic career on Drapers Record, as it was then called, in 1980. He later worked on titles including Menswear, Fashion Weekly, International Textiles and Sportswear International.
He joined Emap in 2000 and led the team which merged Drapers Record and Menswear to create Drapers in 2002.
He said: “It is a great privilege to work for a brand such as Drapers, which has been an essential part of the fashion industry since 6 August 1887. It is an even greater privilege to lead the editorial team once again. I look forward to developing the multi-channel Drapers and enhancing its reputation across all sectors of our diverse fashion community.”
Emap said that Nodder has left "to pursue other opportunities" and that she has left "with the best wishes of all her colleagues at Emap".
Drapers claims to have a net weekly print circulation of 9,384 and a monthly website readership of 71,000 unique browsers.
