The Washington Post has hired web development agency The Wonder Factory for a major web relaunch due to go live before the US election in November, Editor & Publisher reports.
Work on the overhaul is to commence It has has been planned for several months, and was first revealed at the AOP Conference in London last year.
Meanwhile, the agency behind the Telegraph’s blogging and personalisation platform MyTelegraph appears to be in trouble. Interesource has gone into administration forcing the paper to take the hosting and maintainance of the site in-house, Telegraph communities editor Shane Richmond revealed on his blog.
Acccording to Richmond’s post, the site was “in limbo” until mid-December when “a team of Telegraph techies moved the server across London and installed it at the Telegraph’s offices in Victoria”. Former Interesource staffer James Higgs, who worked on MyTelegraph with the firm, will continue to work with the Telegraph on the site.
Blogger Simon Dickson notes that Interesource’s demise might explain why the Mirror seems to have moved Kevin Macguire’s blog to a new Moveable Type platform. It had previously used blogging software from Interesource.
