Trebles all around at Private Eye as staff get bonuses

By Dominic wireposts

Private Eye journalists received “fat bonuses” last week, according to the Evening Standard diary after being told that “2007 was an exceptional year for the Eye”, according to the Evening Standard media diary. Gideon Spanier also reported yesterday that Independent on Sunday editor John Mullin is going to get the top job at the title amid speculation that current editor Tristan Davies has stepped down.

Spanier also speculates features editor Adam Leigh – who he says is Indy editor-in-chief Simon Kelner’s nephew – is being lined up as Saturday editor.
