Times brain workout: Forget Sudoku, here’s Shikaku

By paulmcnally

The Times is redesigning its page 2 to make room for a daily “brain workout” from Monday. Instead of Sudoku, the paper has chosen another Japanese logical reasoning test called Shikaku, which means “divide by squares”.

“Many of the brain-training exercises out there feel too much like maths homework,” said Times features editor Michael Harvey. “We hope that The Workout will become a fun part of [readers’] daily routine.”
