Third suitor may join race for New York’s Newsday

By Martin Stabe wirepost

More suitors could be about to join the race to buy New York suburban daily Newsday, the Wall Street Journal reports today.

Rival New York tabloid proprietors Rupert Murdoch and Mort Zuckerman are vying to consolidate their hold on the New York newspaper market by acquiring the title from the Tribune company.

But according to the Journal, several others could be about to throw their hats into the ring, including Jared Kushner, the 27-year-old proprietor of the upmarket weekly New York Observer.
