The Times has made full use of the interactive capabilities of its website with an online poll on readers’ spending habits ahead of tomorrow’s Budget.
The poll, answered by 2,476 people, found that a third were more worried about losing their jobs than they were this time last year. The story says the poll “is novel because it reflects not just hard statistical data, but people’s oberservations and anxieties about the state of the economy”.
Online, the paper – with the help of Andy Dickinson from the University of Central Lancashire – has constructed an interactive Googlemap, showing by postcode what people around the country are thinking.
In common with several papers, The Times will be offering live news via its mobile service during tomorrow’s big speech.
