Despite news that we are now technically in recession again (did we ever leave it?) – specialist publishers are said to be optimistic about the future.
The organisers of the Specialist Media Show said they polled 178 niche publishers and found 80 per cent expect revenues to grow over the next two years, with 35 per cent expecting them to be up by more than 10 per cent a year.
The number one challenge for them was said to be charging for online content – with 46 per cent already said to be doing so. According to the show organisers, only 22 per cent of consumer publishers are charging for online – and at lower rates.
The Specialist Media Show takes place on 24 May in Birmingham.
