Star Sunday apologises to X-Factor star Leon Jackson

By paulmcnally

Leon Jackson, the winner of the 2006 edition of reality TV show X-Factor, has received an apology from the Daily Star Sunday over an article it published on 19 October.

In its apology, printed yesterday, the paper said the original story “stated that bosses at Sony BMG had called for a crisis meeting over the future” of the pop star, and said “he had fallen out of favour with boss Simon Cowell”.

“We now accept that no plans were made for any such meeting, that Simon is very happy with Leon’s performance and has not held crisis talks with the record company,” the paper said.

“We are sorry for any distress or embarrassment caused by the article.”
