South African journalist Hein Coetzee was arrested after he had reported complaints that police had assaulted them and threatened them with firearms, during a raid on 13 January.
A journalist for the Kaapse Son, a daily tabloid for Afrikaans-speaking people in the Western Cape, Coetzee was arrested after he had reported the incident and was following a lead from a woman who claimed she had found a police bullet at the scene.
