Senior regional and national changes at ITV News

By admin

ITV News has made a series of changes to its senior editorial staff including promoting r Ian Squires to regions and current affairs controller.

The changes follow the announcement last week that ITV News editor-in-chief David Mannion would leave his post to take up a new role with ITN, which produces its national news bulletins.

The Guardian reported yesterday that amongst the changes Sky News digital boss Julian March would move into a newly created role as head of digital media for ITV News & Sport.

ITV News was also streamlining its operations by doing away with three regional news director posts and bringing morning show Daybreak’s news operation more directly into its management structure.

In future regional news editors will report directly to Guy Phillips, director of ITV news group projects, who is taking on the role of editor, ITV regional news, the Guardian reported.
